Biographical History

North Dakota State University's centennial celebration (1990), under the theme, 'For the Land and its People' called for an academic year observance, with the first program a centennial inauguration of President Jim Ozbun in the fall of 1989, followed by a Founder's Week program in April 1990, and a centennial commencement in May 1990. In addition to the three major activities, special exhibits, symposiums and arts programs were planned. President L.D. Loftsgard in 1986 appointed retired professor Fred Walsh to lead the planning for the centennial. In the fall 1987 Don Hanson assumed the chairmanship.
