In U.S. Attorney General's Office as special assistant and assistant, Criminal Div. of Dept. of Justice, 1933; assistant to U.S. Attorney General, 1936-1939. U.S. Chief of Counsel for prosecution in trials of Japanese war criminals, Tokyo, 1946. Served in World War I in France and in Judge Advocate General's Office.
