Biographical History

Officer in the 46th Regiment of Foot, 1758-1766; Indian Dept. commissary at Niagara, 1766-1769.

Roberts was appointed commissary on the recommendation of Sir William Johnson who noted his interest in the Indians and knowledge of the Six Nations languages and French.
