Biographical History

William Kelly Harrison, Jr. was born Sept. 7, 1895 in Washington, DC, to Kate Harris Harrison and Commander William K. Harrison, a U.S. naval officer.The younger Harrison graduated from the U.S. Military Academy in the spring of 1917.He married Eva Antoinette Toole Dec. 13, 1917. They had three children: William Kelly Harrison III, Evelyn, and Wentworth Terry. W. K. Harrison, Jr. served in the U.S. Army for forty years. After he retired from the army with the rank of Lt. General in 1957, he was active in various Christian organizations, and was a contributing editor of Christianity Today. He functioned on the Board of Incorporate Members for Dallas Theological Seminary from 1957 to 1980. Harrison died in 1987.

William K. Harrison graduated from the United States (US) Military Academy in 1917. He taught in the Academy, then served in several cavalry units prior to World War II (WWII). Wartime assignments were with the War Plans Division (1939-1942); Assistant Division Commander, 78th Infantry Division (1942) and 30th Infantry Division (1942-1944); command of 2nd Infantry Division (1945). Post-war assignments included command of the 38th Regimental Combat Team (1946); 9th Infantry Division (1950-1951). During the Korean War era he was deputy commander, Eighth US Army (1951-1952), with concurrent assignment to United Nations Command Korean Armistice Delegation; deputy commander, Army Forces in the Far East (1951-1953); Chief of Staff, Far East Command (1953-1954). He retired in 1957.
