Biographical History

Academic and Burmese scholar. Appointed Lecturer in English at Rangoon College in 1912 and remained there until 1964 (apart from 1942-46). Author of many works on Burmese languages, literature, art and antiquities.

Linguist and Burmese scholar. Gordon Hannington Luce was appointed lecturer in English at Rangoon College in 1912 and remained there until 1964 (apart from 1942-1946). He was the author of many works on Burmese languages, literature, art and antiquities.

Art historian. Alexander B. Griswold served on the board of the academic journal Artibus Asiae. He was involved in publishing G.H. Luce's Old Burma--Early Pagán (1969-1970) as an Artibus Asiae Supplementum.
