Biographical History
Benjamin Franklin Auld was a Methodist minister in Maryland and Pennsylvania, a member of the Maryland and Tennessee Anti-Saloon Leagues, and a strong supporter of the civil right movement.
Auld was born 12 December 1892 in Baltimore, Md. In 1916 he graduated from the University of North Carolina, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. In 1925 he graduated from Boston University School of Theology.
He took part in several civil rights demonstrations and supported the integration of the city schools, often accompanying African American children into the buildings when schools near his church were integrated.
Rev. Auld died 28 August 1967 in Baltimore, Md.
