Biographical History

Architect, Cornell University Class of 1918.

He was born in Rochester, N.Y. and attended Lane Technical High School in Chicago before coming to Cornell in 1914. At Cornell, he was a member of L'Ogive and Gargoyle (architectural societies), the Glee, Banjo and Mandolin Club, Cornell Masque, the Sunday Night Club, and the Savage Club, as well as Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. During World War I, he trained as a aviator at M.I.T. and did advanced training at Key West, Miami and Pensacola, Florida. He served at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola as an instructor from 1918 to 1919, when he returned to Cornell, graduating in 1920. He worked as an architect first in Ohio and then in Chicago and in Maryland.
