Biographical History
J.R. White had a wife named Cynthia and an unknown number of children. He enlisted as a private in the 7th Texas Infantry during the United States Civil War and ended his military career as a 2nd Lieutenant. While serving in the military, he fought against General Sherman during the Atlanta Campaign in Georgia.
Commercial building located at 3625 W. 32nd Ave., Denver, Colo. Originally commissioned by the Highland Amusement Company for use as the Highland Theater. The theater was designed by J. R. White and constructed between 1910-1911. In the mid-1920s, the building was converted into two storefronts. Later in 1934, a restaurant leased the structure. As of October 2009, the location is currently used as a bar and grill known as the Mead Street Station.
Baptist minister; chairman of the executive committee for the 1965 Billy Graham Greater Montgomery Crusade for Christ.
