Biographical History
Ebenezer Turrell Andrews (1766-1851), the son of William and Mary (Andrews), was born in Boston, Mass. on 18 November 1766. He was apprenticed to Isaiah Thomas (1749-1831) in Worcester, Mass. from 1781 to 1788. From 1788 to 1820, in partnership with Thomas and various others, he was a publisher and bookseller in Boston, Mass.; Baltimore, Md.; Albany, N.Y.; and Troy, N.Y. The dissolution of his partnership with Thomas occurred in 1820, but he continued as a bookseller in Boston through 1821. He retired in 1822 and remained in Boston where he died on 9 October 1851. He married twice; first, on 22 December 1791, Hermione Weld ( -1807), and second, on 17 November 1808, Elizabeth ("Eliza") Weld ( - ).
