Biographical History

Walter L. Huber was a Forest Service Engineer for the State of California (c1900-1925). He was the first man to ascend Mount Haeckel (July 14, 1920). He was also author of "San Francisco Earthquakes of 1865 and 1868," "Seismological Society of America" (December 1930) and a book collector. Correspondence in this collection consists of letters about books from two individuals: Ruth Halcyon Stocker, who offers Huber a copy of Niles Searls' "The Diary of a pioneer," and W.W. Robinson, who thanks Huber for his appreciation of Robinson's "Land in California."
