Gordon McNeil Rushforth (1862-1938), classical scholar and antiquary, FSA, was the son of Daniel Rushforth of London, gent. He went up to Oxford as a scholar in 1881, and gained his BA degree in 1885, proceeding to MA in 1888. He was at some period the Director of the British School at Rome.

His publications include: Carlo Crivelli, 1900; Church of S. Maria Antiqua, 1902 and Latin historical inscriptions, illustrating the history of the early empire, 1893.

Sydney A. Pitcher was a photographer with an interest in church architecture, who ran a photographer's studio in Gloucester. He was involved primarily in the photography of Gloucestershire churches, but also took pictures of churches and cathedrals in neighbouring counties, and of medieval sculptures at Winchester College.
