Biographical History
Church organized in 1715. In 1752, the parishes of Mattituck and Aquebogue united and were officially incorporated as Union Parish in 1817. Union Parish as a corporate entity dissolved in 1853. The church was New School, 1838-1870. In 1831, members living in the Middle District formed a separate church. This church met in various locations early on including Southold, N.Y., and Riverhead, N.Y., but most commonly reported its location as Franklinville, N.Y., and, in the late 19th century as the Franklinville Presbyterian Church of Laurel, N.Y. This church merged into the Mattituck Presbyterian Church in 1919.
