Journalist (Barnard, B.A., 1915), Kirchwey (1893-1976) was editor and publisher of the Nation. She was one of four children born to George Washington and Dora Child (Wendell) Kirchwey; in 1915 she married Evans Clark, director of the Twentieth Century Fund and editor for the New York Times.
