Biographical History

The Pacem in Terris Institute, founded in 1966, was named for the encyclical of Pope John XXIII. The Institute was located on the campus of Manhattan College in New York. Representing no particular religious, political or social point of view, the Institute held that peace cannot be attained until an entire generation has been educated to understand the causes of war and social conflict and the process of building a stable international community.
