Biographical History
A. H. Davis, 1868-1935, writer of humorous sketches and novels under the pseudonym Steele Rudd, worked for the Queensland Public Service from 1886-1902. His father, Thomas Davis, was a selector at Emu Creek, Queensland.
Arthur Hoey Davis (Steele Rudd), was born at Drayton, Queensland and later moved to Brisbane where he became a clerk. He contributed to local journals and to The Bulletin. His most famous series was On our selection.
Steele Rudd was the pseudonym of Arthur Hoey Davis (1868-1935) author of humorous sketches and novels.
Thomas Davis was the father of Steele Rudd.
