Biographical History
Grace Crowley, 1890-1979, was an abstract painter and one of the first Australians to reflect the French post-impressionist style. She studied at the Julian Ashton School in Sydney, N.S.W., where she met Anne Dangar and together they studied in Paris under Lhote and Gleizes, 1926-1930. Anne Dangar remained in France where she worked with Albert Gleizes at Moly Sabata, Sablons in Provence. She died there in 1951.
Grace Crowley, painter, born 1890, and Anne Dangar, painter and potter, were fellow students in Sydney in 1915 and studied together in France in 1928. In 1930 Anne Dangar returned to France where she remained until her death in 1951.
