The Montana chapter, named Montana Big Sky Chapter, was formed in 1967. It required a membership of at least ten women. There were twelve charter members, consisting of professional women working as broadcasters, executives, and administrators. The organization's objectives were to work in a creative capacity in radio, television, broadcast advertising, and related fields to provide communication and exchange of ideas, encourage cooperation with the related fields, and to augment the value of members to their employers, industry, community, and country. Norma Ashby was instrumental in forming the Montana chapter and was a charter member.
