L. P. Robinson was Director of Engineering at Pasadena and Lloyd Cali was Manager of Development Engineering. Both were involved on the 211 project.

Discussion of the 2111 System began in 1958 and a proposal was submitted to J. R. Bradburn, Vice President and General Manager of Pasadena and the Corporate Product Development Committee in Detroit in 1959. The 2111 was a solid-state magnetic tape and punched card data processor. It was designed to be a replacement for the B 205 and complement the B 220. It was intended to compete with the IBM Tape 650, the lower end of the 705, the RCA 502 and 503, the NCR 304, Sperry Rand File Computer and the USS 80 Tape System. The first shipments of 2111 were originally scheduled for early 1962. The project was terminated in 1960 because of cost overruns and disagreement over use of delay line or magnetic core memory.
