Caroline Lavinia Scott Harrison (October 1, 1832, Oxford, OH–d. October 25, 1892, Washington, DC); daughter of John Witherspoon Scott; met Benjamin Harrison who was a student of her father, married on October 20, 1853, two children, Russell Benjamin Harrison and Mary Scott McKee; during time in the White House raised the first Christmas tree, started other art classes for women at the White House; helped found the Daughters of American Revolution, served as first President General; died while husband was still president;
