Biographical History

Anne Wexler was born on February 10, 1930 in New York, New York. She received a B.A. from Skidmore College in 1951, an LL.D. from Skidmore in 1978, and a D.Sc. from Bryant College in 1978. She was an associate publisher for Rolling Stone magazine from 1974 to 1976, and a personnel adviser for the Carter-Mondale transition planning group, 1976 to 1977. From 1977 to 1978 she served as the deputy undersecretary for regional affairs, Department of Commerce; and she was the Assistant to the President for Public Outreach, May 1, 1978 to 1981. In this position she involved interest groups and individuals in the making and implementation of policy, and developed and administered efforts to support Presidential priorities. From 1981 to 1982 she was president of Wexler and Associates in Washington, and from 1981 to 1990 she served as a government relations and public affairs consultant and chairman of Wexler, Reynolds, Harrison & Schule in Washington. From 1990 to 1992 she was vice chairman of Hill and Knowlton PA Worldwide, and in 1992 she was chairman of the Wexler Group.
