Thomas, Jane Resh

Jane Resh Thomas has worked as a nurse, as a composition and a writing instructor, as a freelance writer, as an editor of children's books, and as a lecturer. She has been the children's books critic for two major newspapers. Her work has been honored with a Parent's Choice Award (1989), an American Booksellers Pick of the Lists citation (2 in 1989), an ALA Notable Book citation (1988), a Best of the Best for Children, a British Children's Book Award Runner-up citation, a Consortium of Latin American Studies Programs' America's Children's and Young Adult Book Award Commendation (1994).

Jane Resh Thomas was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan in 1936. She worked as a registered nurse before embarking on a career as writer, editor, and writing instructor. She has written a number of books for children, some of which have won awards.
