Biographical History

Biography

Very little is known about Jac McAnelly. The earliest items among his papers are photographs taken in the early 20th century in Brooklyn; other materials in the collection indicate that the family later lived in Bloomington, Illinois. The Internet Movie Database (imdb.com) indicates that McAnelly worked in films and television, primarily in production and costume design, from approximately 1973 until at least 1987. The films on which he worked include Your Three Minutes Are Up (1973), Devil Times Five and Big Bad Mama (1974), Crazy Mama (1975), Lady in Red (1979), Rodeo Girl (1980), Hospital Massacre and The Executioner's Song (1982), Repo Man (actor, 1984), Flicks and Voyage of the Rock Aliens (costume designer and actor, 1987); the television programs include two episodes of Alice (1976 and 1977), The Winds of Kitty Hawk (1978), Rodeo Girl (1980), The Patricia Neal Story (1981), A Summer to Remember (1985), and Betrayed by Innocence (1986). He also registered at least two songs with the United States Copyright Office: Hard Kisses (1979), and Dark Angel (1983).
