Biographical History

Bacon was an American businessman, diplomat and statemen. He served briefly as Secretary of State under Theodore Roosevelt (Jan. 27, 1909 to Mar. 7, 1909), as American ambassador to France (1909-1912) and as a soldier in World War I (private to colonel).
