Biographical History
The Harvard Law School Forum was founded by thirty Law School students, veterans returning from World War II, as a memorial to fellow students killed during the war. The Forum presented its first program on March 8, 1946, a discussion of the war crimes trials. In 1948 the Forum was chartered as a nonprofit corporation. It is administered entirely by Law School students, with financial support from the legal and business communities.

It is committed to hosting prominent individuals from all fields to address Harvard Law School students and faculty --as well as the Harvard community at large-- on a broad range of current issues. It offers an active and varied program of speakers and panel discussions, all of which are open to the public and receive extensive local and national media attention.
