Biographical History

Samuel E. Clark was born April 29, 1883, in St. Charles, Idaho. Clark attended the Chicago School of Music and later graduated from New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. Clark settled in Logan, Utah where married his wife, Ida Charlotte Andersen on August 8, 1914. Clark was a prominent musician for both the community and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, teaching and playing piano and pipe organ as well as instructing in music theory. Clark was employed with the Thatcher Music Company (under George W. Thatcher) and taught publically for Utah State Agricultural College, the McCune School of Music, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Music Institute Department, and also gave private lessons. Clark died in Logan on December 14, 1963.
