Biographical History

Ray Cook is an Australian-born ballet and modern dancer and expert on reconstruction through Labanotation. He attended the Juilliard School where he studied with Jose Limon and Anna Sokolow, and performed in each choreographer's works.

Cook has divided his time between teaching, choreographing, performing and directing in Australia and the U.S. He has created dances for companies at Dartmouth, where he teaches, and for the North Queensland Ballet. He has reconstructed works by Doris Humphrey, Charles Weidman, Limon and Sokolow for companies around the world. He has supervised the training of reconstructors and notators.
