Biographical History

Physicist (technology of radio and microelectronics). Born in Orenburg. Leader in Soviet research on cybernetics and electronic devices; member of the USSR Academy of Sciences; Admiral in Soviet Navy (Navy service 1918-1922); commander of the Scientific Research Institute on Communications of the Red Navy (1932-1940); director of the Scientific Research Institute of Radioelectronics (1947-1957); deputy minister of defense (1953-1957).
