John Brown was a grocer and pharmacist in Warren, Ohio in the early 1800s.

John Brown was a private in Company E. of the 4th Massachusetts Infantry, which was mustered into service September 26, 1862, and mustered out August 28, 1863.
American abolitionist.
The town of Sarah, proposed by the proprietor, Mr. John Brown, was to be located "in the Southwest part of the North East quadrant in Section 34 in Town No. 19 North of Range No. 9 West in Fountain County Indiana." There is no evidence that the town was ever developed under that name.
John Brown was a captain on the schooner, Hamden.
American abolitionist; the letter was often reproduced following Brown's death.
Brown appears to have lived in the vicinity of Portsmouth, N.H., or Newburyport, Mass.
