Biographical History
Physician, of Fremont, Ohio; b. in Virginia; moved to Ohio at age of ten with his parents who settled in Ross County, moving to Marion County in 1818; came to Lower Sandusky (later known as Fremont) in 1824; began career as potter; between 1832-1839 active in local militia; launched his practice ca. 1847, with lack of any formal medical training. Married Eliza Caldwell in 1824.
