Isaak August Dorner (1809-1884) was a German philosopher and theologian.

Dorner was born June 20, 1809 in Württemberg, Germany to a German Lutheran pastor. Following in his father's footsteps, Dorner took an interest in the church. After attending school at the University of Tübingen, he travelled to England and the Netherlands to further study the Protestant faith. He began a fruitful career as a professor of theology at the University of Tübingen in 1837. As a theologian, Dorner was particularly interested in Kantian and post-Kantian ideas, specifically how they related to the Lutheran doctrine. He died July 8, 1884 in Wiesbaden, Germany.
