Chinese businessman and early Seattle settler.

Chin Gee Hee was born in southern China in 1844. He was one of Seattle's earliest Chinese residents, arriving in 1868. Chin was involved with Chinese import merchandising and was also a labor contractor. Present in Seattle during the anti-Chinese disturbances of late 1885, he was active in securing government help during the riots and in obtaining reparations for damage afterwards. In 1905 Chin returned to China to form the Sun Ning Railroad Company and establish rail service in southern China.
