Douglas Clyde Macintosh was Professor of Theology at the Yale Divinity School from 1909 to 1942, and Emeritus Professor until his death in 1948. A native of Canada, Macintosh was denied U.S. citizenship by a Supreme Court decision in 1931 because of his refusal to make a blanket agreement to bear arms in defense of the U.S.
