Charles J. Bell of Walden, Vt., enlisted in the 15th Vermont Regiment, Co. B, September 8, 1862, and was mustered out August 5, 1863. He then enlisted in Co. C of the 1st Vermont Regiment Cavalry on August 17, 1864. He was promoted corporal November 19, 1864; wounded April 8, 1865; and was mustered out June 21, 1865.
