Evangelist; born Percy Bartiminaus Crawford in Canada, 1902; was an independent Protestant evangelist and founder of King's College, the Young People's Church of the Air (which produced radio and television programs), Pinebrook and other Christian summer camps and other enterprises; he was especially notable for Youth on the March, the first evangelistic program on television which aired in October 1949; died in New Jersey, 1960; Ruth Crawford Porter, his wife, was an active partner in these enterprises and had general responsibility for all musical aspects; she died in 1986.
