Faber, William Frederic, 1860-1934
William F. Faber was born at Buffalo, New York on February 27, 1860. He attended public schools in Buffalo and graduated from the University of Rochester in 1880. He attended Auburn Theological Seminary from 1880-1883 and was ordained a Presbyterian minister in 1883. He was the pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in Westfield, N. Y. from 1883-1892. He entered the Episcopal Church in 1892 and served congregations in Geneva and Lockport, N. Y. before being appointed rector of St. John's Church in Detroit in 1905. He remained at St. John's until 1914 when he was appointed Bishop Co-Adjutor of Montana. He served in this position until 1916 when he was appointed Episcopal Bishop of Montana. William Frederic Faber was born in Buffalo, New York, on February 27, 1860. He was educated at the University of Rochester and at the Auburn Theological Seminary. In 1914 he was appointed coadjutant bishop of Montana to assist Bishop Leigh Brewer. He succeeded as Episcopal Bishop of Montana on the death of Brewer in 1916. Bishop Faber died while on a hike in Glacier National Park on July 21, 1934, at the age of 74.
