Halsted, William, 1794-1878
Variant namesWilliam Halsted served as a Member of Congress from New Jersey and as United States Attorney for the State of New Jersey. During the Civil War, he raised the First Regiment of Volunteer Cavalry of New Jersey and served as colonel.
