King, Harriet Eleanor Baillie-Hamilton, 1840-1920
Variant namesHarriet King was born in Eagle Village, Boone County, Indiana, the third child of Benson and Esther (Robinson) King. Harriet's parents died of typhoid fever 6 minutes apart in 1845, leaving four children. At the time her diary begins, 20 year old Harriet and her 18 year old sister Matilda are living with their uncle, Anson King.
