David Gerrold, science fiction writer, was born in Chicago, Ill. and earned a B.A. from California State U. (Northridge). Gerrold began writing in 1967 and has written more than ten novels - some in collaboration with other writers. He has also edited several anthologies including, Ascents of wonder (1977). Gerrold has also written screen plays for NBC-TV's Star trek series.

He has been nominated for Nebula and Hugo awards and is best known for the novel, The man who folded himself (1973).
