Laughlin, Clarence John
Variant namesClarence John Laughlin was born in 1905 in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He is widely credited as the first surrealist photographer in the United States and is best known for his images of the American South. Laughlin died on January 2, 1985, and is buried in the Père Lachaise cemetery in Paris, France.
