Williams, Thomas Scott, 1777-1861
Variant namesWilliams was a member of Connecticut state house of representatives, 1813-16, 1819, 1825-29; U.S. Representative from Connecticut at-large, 1817-19; superior court judge in Connecticut, 1829-47; mayor of Hartford, Conn., 1831-35. He also was president of the American Tract Society of New York from May 1848 until his death.
