The Punk Art exhibition was held at the Washington Project for the Arts in Washington, D.C. from May 15-June 10, 1978. Artists featured in the exhibition included John Holmstrom, Alan Vega, Jimmy De Sana, Roberta Bayley, Screaming Mad George, Marcia Resnick, Chris Stein, Leslie Schiff, Beth B & Scott B, and others. Co-curators Marc H. Miller and Bettie Ringma collaborated with Alice Denney of the Washington Project for the Arts to stage the exhibition. "Looking for something which was current for our spring exhibition, it seemed pertinent to explore the punk movement," Denney wrote.
