Jackson, J. W. (Joseph Webber), 1796-1854
Variant namesJoseph Webber Jackson was a son of General James Jackson. He was a lawyer, Mayor of Savannah, served in both houses of the Georgia Legislature and in the U.S. House of Representatives, 1850-1853, and was Colonel of the 1st Georgia Regiment of Militia. He was a curator of the Georgia Historical Society for several years.
