Cooke, John Rogers, 1833-1891
Variant namesJohn Rogers Cooke, son of U.S. Army general Philip St. George Cooke, served in the Confederate States Army and lived in Richmond, Va., for many years after the Civil War. He became a prominent merchant and was active in local Confederate veterans' affairs.
