Oversight agency for all of Maryland agriculture.

Responsibilities for the tobacco crop included supervising tobacco warehouses and goods in the city of Baltimore, granting licenses for the buying and selling of leaf tobacco, formulating regulations for record-keeping of tobacco sales, determining market periods, and testing the accurary of weights and measures used in tobacco sales.
