Swinburne Hale (1884?-1937) was a lawyer in New York City. He was active in the socialist movement as a member of the Committee of Forty-Eight. An aspiring poet, he was involved briefly with the magazine New France. His first wife, Beatrice Forbes-Robertson (1883-1967), was a stage actress and feminist author and lecturer.
