Taylor, Samuel, 1749-1811
Variant namesSamuel S. Taylor was born June 3, 1914, to Vencinzina and Biagio Cusmano in Passaic, New Jersey. In 1948 he decided to move to California and on the way there, ran out of gas in Utah. He fell in love with Salt Lake City and stayed for over fifty years. He started the Taylor Hearing Service in 1952. He was elected to the Utah House of Representatives in 1970 and served there until 1986. While in the legislature, he passed the Transit Act in 1973 that started the Utah Transit Authority.
