John R. Little, Confederate soldier and physican, was born in October 1832, near Union, South Carolina, and died 17 August 1902, in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

He enlisted with Jenkins' Brigade as a soldier, but was given a position at Winder Hospital, Richmond, Virginia (1862), and became a hospital surgeon (1863) in Jackson, Mississippi. He married Sarah Montgomery while home on leave.
