Weightman, R. H. (Richard Hanson), 1816-1861
Variant namesRichard Hanson Weightman served as an officer in the Mexican War. He settled in New Mexico in 1849, and in 1850 he was chosen as a United States senator during New Mexico's unsuccessful application for statehood. He was elected to the United States Congress, 1851-1853. Weightman died in 1861 while serving in the Civil War.
