Gregory T. Delawie (born 1957) served as Ambassador to Kosovo from August 21, 2015 until September 26, 2018. A career member of the Senior Foreign Service, he was born in San Diego, California and graduated from Harvard College with a degree in economics.

Prior to his ambassadorship, Delawie served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Verification, Planning, and European Security in the State Department’s Bureau of Arms Control, Verification and Compliance. In prior assignments, Mr. Delawie served as Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Berlin, Germany, where he was chief operating officer of one of the United States’ largest missions abroad; as Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of Political-Military Affairs, where he was the State Department’s lead on counter-piracy issues and managed programs regarding humanitarian demining and negotiation of status of forces agreements;. as Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Zagreb, Croatia; and in various positions in Rome, Ankara, and Frankfurt. In other Washington assignments he worked on bilateral trade issues; human resources policy; aviation security; as desk officer for the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development; and as a Watch Officer in the State Department Operations Center.

A polyglot, Delawie speaks German, Italian, Turkish, and Croatian in addition to English.
