Outram, James, Sir, 1803-1863
Variant namesLt.-General. Commanded two Divisions of the Bengal Army in the Mutiny, and accompanied the relief column to Lucknow. On the second relief, in November, Outram retired to the Alambagh and held it until the final capture of Lucknow in March, 1858.
